Elie - B.Eng., C.Eng., MIoD, MIMechE - Chief Executive
A Chartered Mechanical Engineer (Distinction), Elie studied in Canada then worked for General Electric and Control Data Corporation. He later moved to Boston, USA with Elscint.In 1988 he joined Philips Components in Tyneside as Head of Engineering before moving to New Zealand to become Trigon’s Manufacturing Director and a Board member. In 1993 he returned to England as a General Manager and Company Secretary for Schur.Elie is also a specialist in process re-engineering and supply chain management and implementation of cultural change. In 1997 he started his own business consultancy, advising companies how to operate more effectively by reducing costs, increasing their competitive edge and improving their profit.
Nigel - MBA, MCIM – Managing Director
A professional marketer, Nigel has held key positions at two of the North East’s largest support service providers for the SME sector – Sage Group Plc and Technology Services Group (TSG). Nigel worked at Sage for 10 years, starting in product management and eventually rising to Managing Director of Sage UK’s New Business Division and then Marketing and Business Development Director for Sage UK. Nigel also had a 2 year spell at Sage Germany to turnaround an acquisition which has since become a consistent performer. Nigel left Sage in 2003 to set up TSG and worked as Marketing and Business Development Director, taking a leading role in many of the company’s 26 acquisitions. During Nigel’s 6 years with TSG, the company become one of the UK's fastest growth IT services businesses, reaching a turnover of £35m. Nigel left TSG in 2009 to work on other business interests. He is a non-executive director of Business and Enterprise North East and a non-executive director of qualifications awarding body NCFE.
Mandy - Operations Manager
Mandy has worked alongside Elie since October 1998. Her role is to carry out client audits, input and analyse the data collected, and produce detailed reports for presentation to the client. Mandy also manages the day to day running of the office as well as managing supplier relationships. Prior positions were at Telewest Arena in Newcastle where she was the General Manager’s PA, and secretarial posts at North Tyneside College, Gateshead College and the Leamington Spa Building Society.
John - Sales
A background of sales, business development and management in both business and government prior to joining J6 as Sales Director. A former employee is British Telecom, John worked in various areas within the company, gaining a wealth of knowledge in sales and management. Management of staff has contributed greatly to John’s outstanding leadership, motivational and communication skills. During his time with BT, John met and indeed, exceeded sales targets and achieved great success in several projects. He also gained a number of awards, including outstanding achievement and the Government sector. As a function of his working environment, John developed the ability to understand, identify and apply new technologies, which is particularly useful in this ever-changing market. More recently, John has worked in the ‘Business to Business’ and SME sector
Liam BSc (Hons), MBCS - Head of Development
Liam graduated from Northumbria University with a first class BSc Honours degree in Computing Studies. Whilst at university Liam undertook a years assignment working for Sunderland NHS web team as a web developer gaining a vast amount of experience in developing websites and applications to client needs and adhering to web standards. Liam graduated with excellent up-to-date computing knowledge. He is also a member of the British Computer Society (Computing Professional Body).
David - Regional Director
David was employed by BT for 32 years in various roles all in the sales area. During the latter years of working for BT David held the position of Corporate Account Director and managed a global team providing solutions for companies such as Dexter Corporation, Compaq Computers and the Weir Group before leaving in 2000. Following David’s departure from BT, he worked as a self employed telecom consultant working mainly with SME sector clients for a number of years before being head hunted to become the Sales Director in a telecom company. David was responsible for the sales strategy and development of new products and services as well as managing a team of sales people
Simon BEng (Hons) - Telecom Consultant
Before becoming a telecom consultant Simon worked as the Regional Sales Director of GAN Financial Services Ltd. He successfully built and developed a sales force of over 150 consultants over a period of 8 years. His strong background in sales and customer care ensured his consistent success within GAN. Following his departure from GAN, Simon co-founded a telecom company in 1996 and worked as a telecom consultant were he played a major part in the growth of the company. He was responsible for the development of new products and services as well as implementing service strategy with the group.
Derek FCMA, ACIS – Utilities Consultant
Derek joined Ernst & Young’s Business Risk Services practice in 1999 following a career in the UK Utility sector. Over a period of 22 years he held several senior management posts at Yorkshire Electricity in financial management. As Head of the UK Utilities Group he was the lead advisor to the DTI on business separation of the UK Utility sector following introduction of the Utilities Act 2000. In 2001, Derek established and managed Ernst & Young’s UK Energy Trading Group in London, a multi-disciplinary business unit developing and delivering cross service line solutions to Clients across Europe where energy trading was a core activity. Derek established close relationships with ScottishPower, TXU EUROPE, Viridian plc, EDF, BNFL, Singapore Power, Williams Inc, RWE, E.on, Sempra, Norsk .Hydro, The DTI, OFGEM and Teesside Power
Kath MSc, BSc (Hons) – Utilities Consultant
Kath held a number of senior positions with Yorkshire Electricity across corporate treasury, project management and wholesale and retail energy supply. Positions of particular relevance include those of Energy Trading Pricing Manager and Pooling and Settlements Manager, where amongst other things she was responsible for:
- Creation of a business blueprint to enable the Yorkshire Electricity’s Energy Supply business to move into the competitive market.
- Development of the special markets section focusing on niche markets to major industrial customers including setting the pricing strategy and prices for the industrial and commercial markets.
- Managing the interface between sales, pricing, wholesale purchasing and settlements.
Kathryn – Process Re-Engineering and Supply Chain Consultant
IT Professional with over 15yrs international experience working with Global organisations on a wide range of projects with experience and knowledge built across a number of industry sectors and disciplines with a key focus on process enhancement. Neil, MIH – Catering and Vending Consultant
Neil spent his early career with leading hotels and restaurants in London, Paris and Zurich, and subsequently worked with ARAMARK UK and Chartwells (Compass Group plc). Neil is a member of the Institute of Hospitality and gained further experience and qualifications in Advanced Food Hygiene, Internal Auditing, Craft Trainer Skills and Productivity Skills. As a consultant, he has been responsible for managing comprehensive tender exercises for many diverse organisations such as offshore oil and gas companies and for around forty Yorkshire secondary schools as well as co-ordinating a major design and planning project for a high profile central Leeds client catering facility.
