J6 saves Redstone Plc over £35,000 pa on utilities bills

Telecoms group, Redstone Plc briefed J6 to review their utilities expenditure and identify areas for savings. "We found that because Redstone had grown through acquisition, they had multiple suppliers for both gas and electricity and because their many contracts were not aligned, it was difficult for them to implement a cost-reduction strategy without external assistance", explained J6 Chief Executive Elie Jankelewitz.
"We asked our utility specialists to audit the utilities accounts and produce some recommendations that would deliver both savings as well as reduce the management time required to process invoices. The plan was simple and extremely effective:"
- We reduced the number of suppliers into a single contract
- We ensured that the usage profile in the contract matched the usage profile of the business
- Redstone joined the J6 Market Price Tracker Programme to ensure that their utility prices will always remain competitive as market conditions change
"I remember that Redstone was very impressed with the results", continued Elie, "savings were in excess of £35,000 per annum and we saved them a lot of time just by reducing the annual invoice volume. On top of that, we have ensured that management will always be aware of new, improved tariffs which will continually reduce costs further in the future".
"This really is a typical example of the impact that J6 can have on almost any mid to large sized business", concluded Elie, "most businesses are very effective in procuring the core materials and services that make up their stock in trade, however it is very difficult for them to amass the knowledge, expertise and buying power to make continual savings in other, more mundane expenditure categories - that's why we are so successful as a service".
